Abstract
Loblaw Companies Limited

Setup

Loblaw is just one of the Canadian Company I’d like to own. And it just turns out to have a pretty solid trend, I was waiting to get into it.

Weekly Chart
Figure 1: L.TO in two time frames

Entry

Entered mid-day when I saw that the stock’s going to touch the fast EMA, set stop at the slow EMA level at the previous low on 2026-01-08 at 60.591 so that it has lots of room to run. Staked only 100 CAD on this position.

Updates

2026-02-04

Updated stop to break-even after breakout day on Feb 3rd

Stop-Limit sell 100 shares @ 61.74

Figure 2: Daily Chart

2026-02-05

update stop to top (close) of the 2026-02-03 breakout2 candle which would give a nice 1:2 risk-reward:

Stop-Limit sell 100 shares @ 65.46

Stop

the stop was hit a couple days after where the low of 65.44 was touched briefly:

  • sold 100 shares @ 65.485 on 2026-02-11

This ended up to be a 2:1 reward-risk trade. Unlike for Gold, my conviction for this stock is not super strong. So was happy to just get out here and captured the 2ATR breakout. Might get back in later at some future point when it drops back into the value zone.
